About the school

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology

TJHSST — better known as TJ — is a magnet high school in Alexandria, Virginia, and consistently ranks as the #1 public high school in the United States. Admission is selective, competitive, and built around a rigorous entrance exam plus problem-solving essays.

  • Highly selective: Thousands apply, only a few hundred get in each year.
  • Top STEM curriculum: Research labs, advanced courses, and college-level projects.
  • National reputation: Ranked #1 public high school by U.S. News & World Report.
  • The test matters: Strong test prep is one of the biggest factors in admissions success.
Meet your tutors

Two brothers. Both got in. Both still remember the test.

We're not paid tutors who studied this from a textbook. We're brothers who recently sat through the same exam you're about to take — and we know exactly what makes the difference.

Questions

FAQ

The stuff parents and students ask us most.

Which course is right for my student?
If your student is in 7th grade or below, start with Starting Your TJ Journey. If they're a rising 8th grader prepping for next year's TJ test, Locking In on TJ is the main summer course. If they're already an 8th grader heading into test season, The Final Showdown is a pre-test sprint starting late November.
Can my student take more than one course?
Absolutely — and many will. A student might take "Starting Your TJ Journey" in 6th or 7th grade, "Locking In on TJ" the summer before 8th, and "The Final Showdown" right before the test. Returning students get priority enrollment.
What if my student misses a class?
Every class is recorded and shared with enrolled students. We also stay reachable between classes for quick catch-up questions.
Are materials included?
Yes. All worksheets, practice problems, mock tests, and review materials are included in the price of every course.
How is this different from other TJ prep programs?
We just took the test. We're not adults teaching from a curriculum we made years ago — we're brothers who walked into the same exam your student will take, and we remember exactly what mattered and what didn't.
What if my student needs to drop out?
Reach out and we'll work it out. We want this to be fair for families.
How do I know my spot is confirmed?
Once we receive your Zelle payment and your enrollment email, we'll reply within 24 hours confirming the spot and sharing the first class link.
